Small Words

I play a fair amount of Words with Friends.  I am not an addict, but I normally have several games going on at once on my phone.  The other day I played a word and it yielded my second highest score ever for one move.  I played a word that gave me 106 points.  Here was the interesting thing.  The word was only 2 letters.  But the word happened to be able to be played at the right time and at the right place.  And even though the word was small, it had significant impact because of the placement and timing.  I think there is something here for us in our communication.  Even the smallest words or phrases can have huge impact on people if “played” at the right time and in the right place.  It may just be a few words or a few minutes or short note or text, but when delivered at the right time and at the right place in someone’s life these words can be huge.  I think the key is often focusing on quality and not quantity.  And you can deliver quality in short conversations.  Look for the right time and place to deliver quality words to someone.  You never know what kind of impact these small words could have.
