Compete vs. Complete – Summary Thoughts

Someone recently asked me if I would be willing to try and capture key thoughts from my Sunday’s sermons in a blog post.  I thought I would take a shot at it.  I will try this for a few weeks and see what kind of feedback I get from it.  So here are some key thoughts/ideas from my message this past Sunday.

  • You compete because you are not complete.
  • You may be complete and just need to remember that you really are.
  • You many need to recognize that you are not complete.
  • Completion is ultimately found in the person of Jesus Christ.
  • You cannot live from a fullness that you do not have.
  • If you are not on mission, there is a good chance you do not know the Messiah.
  • It makes no sense to try and fill what is already full.
  • Real joy comes when you become aware of your fullness in Christ.
  • Stop taking instructions from the old boss – someone new calls the shots.
  • There is tremendous peace in having nothing to prove.
  • Live from truth, not your emotions.
  • Figuring out the way is often more important than the what we are doing.
  • Colossians 2:9-10, Matthew 4:18-20
