Thankful

I am going to be cliche and start my posts this year with a look back at 2012.  I look back and reflect on what transpired this past year in my life, and primarily in my family and in our church, and there is one word that comes to mind.  That word is thankful.

I am thankful for my wife on more levels than a silly blog post could ever articulate.  I am thankful that my kids are healthy and moving forward in age-appropriate ways.  I am thankful for the memories we were able to make together.  I am thankful for the provision God has given us in countless ways.  I am thankful for Grace Fellowship and how God has moved in the last year.  There is more and better ministry at Grace.  More people know Jesus.  More people have been baptized.  We made mistakes and learned.  We sold a building.  We moved offices.  We learned how to function as a portable church.  We added more staff.  We have more people who call Grace home.  We started our new building.  I could keep going…and going…and going…

Bottom line – I am thankful for how God worked in my family and my church not because of me, but in spite of me.

  1. Thank you for reminding me of all the good things in 2012. I am thankful that I have been and continue to be fed at Grace Fellowship. I am thankful for the baptism experience I enjoyed. I am enjoying my time in the word and have much to learn. My goal for 2013 is to learn to live in the moment. I always seem to have to charge ahead of my Father and fix everything I think needs fixing. Talk about a slow learner…wouldn’t you think after 80 years of charging ahead and messing everything up I would be content to let Him be in charge? Maybe this is the year for me to finally give in and let Him be in charge at least that is my prayer. God Bless all of the staff at Grace Fellowship and may you all have a very Happy New Year.
