4:30 AM

I was staying in a hotel this week and was having trouble sleeping.  I finally fell asleep and then all of the sudden I woke up with that sense of, oh no, it is late.  You know the feeling where you come out of your sleep and you feel like you are going to have to get up right then.  So I rolled over and looked at the clock.  It said 4:30.  I was so happy.  This meant I had two more hours.  I said out loud, “yes, more time”.  When I woke up at 6:30, I was getting ready and thinking about how excited I was in the middle of the night for more time.  Then  something hit me…Every time I wake up, it is only by the grace of God and it means He has given me more time, and this should always excite me.  The Bible says to teach us to number our days, so that we might live with wisdom.  I think a key piece in cultivating this kind of wisdom is just acknowledging that God gave us more time.  That time is a gift and it should be used wisely.
