I know that many of who read this lead stuff.  You give talks, present business plans, educate kids, host groups, coach a team of employees or players, facilitate discussions, etc.  I know I am always looking for aids and tools and soundbites to do a better job at this kind of stuff.  I read the following thoughts from a book many months ago.  I found this helpful and thought I would pass it on.  Please remember the following is not to be taken and followed in a vacuum.  There are other important factors to consider.

When creating an environment where you are passing on information and engaging in some form of teaching and/ or dialogue, try to do the following:

  1. create an appealing environment
  2. provide helpful content
  3. make the presentation engaging

I know that these are intuitive, yet spot on.  Three simple guides that I believe really help.
